Score 88-89/100 · Drink 2000-2005, Pierre Rovani, Oct 1998

The bright, medium-to-dark ruby-colored Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Lavieres offers an intense nose of black currants intermingled with mineral-like scents. This is a plump, medium-to-full-bodied, juicy, velvety-textured, and deep wine filled with loads of blackberries and dark cherries. Projected maturity: 2000-2005. Note: This wine is a Patrick Lesec Selection, which is neither fined nor filtered. It was aged in 100% new oak barrels. I am unaware of the cellaring and bottling procedures employed for Camus-Brochon's cuvees not represented by Lesec. A Patrick Lesec Selection (Paris Fax # 011-33-1-42-84-38-22), various American importers.
