Also showing better balance and integration of the oak, the 2015 Barón de Magaña is a multi-varietal red blend with some 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Tempranillo and 5% Garnacha grown on limestone soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in 20,000-liter stainless steel vats and matured in used French oak barrels for ten months. The palate is elegant, balanced and fresh, with focused, clean flavors and a very tasty finish. The tannins are very fine-grained and sleek. 45,000 bottles were filled in April 2017. Very good value. It showed surprisingly well even after its very recent bottling.
