Tasting notes
The Domaine de la Solitude 2018 Blanc—a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon—prances out of the glass with showy notes of lemon meringue pie, lime cordial and orange blossoms plus suggestions of yuzu zest, shaved ginger and fresh pineapple. The elegantly crafted, medium-bodied palate delivers a great intensity of wonderfully pure, well-defined citrus and tropical fruit flavors, lifted by a racy line and finishing with a lingering spicy kick.

The 2018 Domaine de la Solitude Blanc has an attractive bouquet with white flower and light white peach aromas filtering through the citrus fruit. Delicate, but gains intensity with aeration. The palate is well balanced with impressive weight and slightly waxy in texture, leading to a peppery finish. I appreciate the bitter edge to this Domaine de la Solitude Blanc. Given its price, this is well worth seeking out.
Beautiful notes of ripe lemon, pineapple, and honeyed lime as well as a sense of salty minerality emerge from the 2018 Domaine De La Solitude (Pessac-Léognan) Blanc. This is another rich, nicely textured, medium to full-bodied white in the vintage with loads to love. Geared for the dinner table, it will keep for 5-7 years, if not longer.
Beautiful density and layered character to this with phenolic tension and power. Lots of dried-apple, lemon and peach flavors. Excellent finish.
