Tasting notes
The star of the show is the blockbuster styled 2005 Hermitage le Meal. Coming from one of the best sites for Syrah in the world, it offers sexy notes of black raspberries, roasted herbs, charcoal and crushed rock. These give way to a full-bodied, rich, seamless Hermitage that has fine tannin and a great finish. Like the Les Dionnieres cuvee, it’s still youthful and fresh, and will have another two decades of overall longevity.

Bright ruby. Deep, youthfully brooding dark cherry and cassis aromas are complicated by anise, cured tobacco and pungent herbs. Bitter cherry and blackberry skin flavors pack serious punch, taking a tannic turn on the finish. A little backward today but this should turn out very well.
