Deep ruby/plum-hued, the 2023 Clos Saint-Martin has gorgeous aromatics of spicy, darker fruits, chocolate, crushed stone, iron, and graphite. Based on 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 18 months in 80% new barrels with the balance in amphora, it's rich, concentrated, and medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a pure, graceful, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. From a magical terroir, it's a brilliant, seamless 2023 that readers will love. Buy a case if you can. Drink 2026-2046.

The 2023 Clos Saint-Martin is a delicate, nuanced Saint-Émilion. Silky contours wrap around a core of red cherry fruit, blood orange, pomegranate, spice, mocha and dried flowers. This feels a bit light in body but remains very poised.

The 2023 Clos Saint-Martin has an attractive bouquet, less intense than usual, quite refined with neatly integrated oak. Scents of brambly red fruit, sous-bois and light tobacco, all well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins. The acidity is certainly well-judged, ample depth on the middle palate with a controlled, classically styled finish that conveys a degree of sensuality. This comes recommended. Bon vin .

A fine red with aromas of mint, dark fruit, graphite and damp earth with touches of violets and dark chocolate. Quite flavorful, round and fleshy on the palate, with a solid core of dark fruit in the middle. The small grains of tannins are assertive but polished. Long finish. 80% merlot, 15% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold.
