Tasting notes
The vivid ruby/purple-hued 2021 Château Peymouton offers up a classic 2021 bouquet of juicy red and blue berry fruits as well as sappy herbs and flower notes. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has soft, supple tannins, a real sense of purity and juicy fruit, and a clean finish. It should drink nicely right out of the gate and is a charming, elegant wine in the making.

The 2021 Peymouton (part of the JP Moueix portfolio) has an attractive raspberry and wild strawberry nose, the Cabernet component imparting light pencil box scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, grainy tannins, and lightly spiced, revealing a tang of black pepper toward the finely proportioned finish. Worth seeking out.
Black raspberries, flowers and herbs on the nose bring you to the medium-bodied, soft, fresh, forward, bright, crisp, red pit fruit palate and finish. You can enjoy this on release and over the near-term. Drink from 2023-2029. 87-89
82% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. J-P Moueix exclusivity. Cask sample. Light but fresh with a chalky, dry finish. A little sweetness to the Merlot base. Simple but well executed. (JL)
