(Marchand-Tawse now works with two parcels, one in Poulaillères and the other in Orveaux): Bright red. Musky red fruits and game on the nose. Sweet and fine-grained but with a faint greenness currently giving the red fruit flavors a clenched quality. Finishes ripely tannic and persistent but tight. I find this hard to assess today.

The 2013 Echezeaux Grand Cru has a perfumed and pure bouquet that is well defined and displays fine mineral notes. The palate is pretty on the entry with fine tannin and nicely judged acidity. There is plenty of tension here and the 50% new oak allows the terroir to come through. Excellent.
