Tasting notes
Zesty lemon and lime, sweaty salinity and a resinous whiff of oak aromatically anticipate the brightly juicy, tangy impression conveyed on a firm palate. The recent influx of new casks into the Breuer cellar has had largely discreet effects, but in this wine’s finish – persistent and animating though it is – I sense that wood is slightly inhibiting fruit and mineral expression. This will certainly be a Riesling to revisit.

The 2016 Rheingau Riesling Rüdesheim Berg Rottland offers a clear and concentrated bouquet of perfectly ripe and aromatic white fruits intermixed with crushed stone aromas. On the palate, this is a very juicy, elegant and aromatic Riesling with ripe yet piquant acidity and fine phenolic structure. The finish is well balanced and aromatic, and the wine already drinks stunningly well. Release date: March 2018
