Produced from three prime old vine parcels within Fournier's holdings in Marsannay's future premiers crus, the 2020 Marsannay Trois Terres Vieilles Vignes unwinds in the glass with notions of sweet cherries, violets, orange rind, spices and petals. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, it's supple and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, saline finish. This is a terrific bottling.

From vines planted in the 1930s and 1940s, the 2020 Marsannay Trois Terres Vielles Vignes has a lovely, pure, slightly minty bouquet with plenty of black fruit. Very pure. The palate is medium-bodied, demonstrating more composure than the La Violett at the moment, though there is still a structured, quite spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. Give this 3-5 years in bottle.
