Score 91/100 · Drink 2025-2035, Neal Martin, Oct 2025
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Abbaye de Morgeot 1er Cru has more presence on the nose compared to Coffinet-Duvernay's Les Fairendes: slightly richer in style but without the same delineation and tension. The palate is well balanced with some reduction, though it does not seem fixed. Walnut and a touch of golden raisin add a bit of " je ne sais quoi " on the finish. Not a long-term Chassagne, but this is well crafted and should repay cellaring if so desired. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
