Bertrand Ambroise Grand Cru 2007 Corton-Le Rognet 16.5 Drink 2011-16 Peppery, taut and fresh. Medium bodied, pretty good length, fresh fruit, but not really what I expect from a grand cru. (JH)

The layered red berry fruit, earth and sauvage nose is a bit fresher if perhaps not quite as obviously ripe while leading to rich and wonderfully complex medium full flavors underpinned by much finer tannins than this wine typically displays and while it is not a truly elegant effort, it's not the bruiser it usually is. That said, it will still require at least a decade in the cellar first. Very promising.
