Tasting notes
The 2019 Barbera d'Asti Bricco della Bigotta shows a velvety dark appearance with blackberry, tar and camphor ash. This is a full-bodied and thickly textured expression of Barbera with points of bright acidity that give the wine extra lift and focus. Like some of the other new releases from Braida, the high alcohol (measured here at 16%) is overboard.

The 2019 Barbera d’Asti Bricco della Bigotta is a wild, exotic wine. Super-ripe dark cherry, kirsch, new leather, menthol, blood orange and sweet oak infuse this flamboyant Barbera with tons of nuance and complexity. Rich and layered, with terrific depth the Bigotta is another winner in this range from Braida. Bright acids and floral tones round out the finish.
