Offering up aromas of citrus oil, green apple, fresh pastry and blanched almonds, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Village is medium-bodied, lively and nicely balanced. As usual, this isn't as tensile or concentrated as its Puligny counterpart, but it's a fine effort.

Bottled. A bit open and floral. Could do with a little more tension – though admittedly I have just been tasting Lamy’s wines. Rather ordinary frankly, with a little alcohol evident on the end. (JR)

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Village offers light praline and almond scents on the nose, gentle, even if it does not quite get both hands on terroir expression. The palate is better with a tang of marmalade on the entry, slightly honeyed in texture with a peachy finish. Not bad, but not a long-term proposition.

Lots of fruit here as well as a subtle flinty note. Drops off a touch on the finish but should drink nicely over the next few years. (AC)
