Tasting notes
The medium ruby-colored 1996 Coudoulet rouge is an attenuated, lean-styled wine. It gives the impression of being closed, but frankly, I think it just lacks fruit. The wine is dry, austere, and lacking fat and richness. While it is fresh, with good fruit on the attack, it is hollow in the mouth. I doubt that further fruit will emerge with aging.
