Score 87/100 · Drink 2025-2030, Neal Martin, Jan 2024
The 2021 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Rouge comes from declassified Marsannay fruit. The commendable bouquet offers blueberry infusing the raspberry and strawberry, showing a little more vigor than the Côteaux Bourguignon. The medium-bodied palate has grainy tannins, fine depth, and good grip with a lightly spiced finish. This has meliorated during its élevage and deserves a higher score.

The 2021 Bourgogne Rouge Côte d'Or has a generous nose with black plum and light iris flower scents. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, perhaps a tad too strong in terms of extract resulting in some hard tannins on the finish. Will need to mellow by the time of bottling.
