Score 94-96/100 · Drink 2025-2043, Neal Martin, Jan 2023

The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Au Mazoyères Grand Cru (note the name change to signify the exact lieu-dit) has a beautifully defined bouquet with perfumed dark cherry, blueberry and violet scents, an underlying mineralité that surfaces with a few swirls of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, structured for a Charmes-Chambertin. The 50% whole bunches lend a light peppery note on the finish. Quite intellectual and it possesses the density to age long-term.
