Tasting notes
The 2016 Poggio alle Nane is powerful, dense and ample. Black cherry, plum, licorice, menthol, new leather, spice, incense and lavender all build as this dark, unctuous wine shows off its considerable allure. The 2016 is concentrated and rich, with impeccable balance and tons of sheer appeal, not to mention a gorgeous wine in its price range.

This is gorgeous with lots of crushed-berry, dark-chocolate and hazelnut aromas and flavors. Full body. Layered and soft. Delicious and rich finish. Pretty blend of cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold.
The 2016 Poggio alle Nane is a fabulous wine from the Antinori family's Mortelle estate. Plush, deep and super-expressive, the 2016 has so much to offer. Black cherry, chocolate, leather and spice all build as this racy Tuscan red shows off its striking personality. This is a terrific example of the vintage at its best.
The Le Mortelle 2016 Maremma Toscana Poggio alle Nane is Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon with some Carmenère in a supporting role. Like the other new releases from this estate, this wine is redolent of hot-climate aromas of black fruit, cherry liqueur, liquid smoke and roasted spice. The wine's appearance is midnight black, and the mouthfeel is characterized by thickness, softness and pleasurable succulence. A wine like this wraps thickly over the palate and holds tight thereafter.
