Tasting notes
The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru is slightly spicier and more savoury than Trapet's other cuvées, light chalky scents percolating through the dark berry fruit. The palate is well balanced with a slightly gourmand entry, quite insistent in terms of grip, fine acidity with a liberal sprinkling of black pepper towards the finish that is somewhat austere and deserves time in bottle. Very promising.

The Trapets' finest premier cru this year is the 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle, a medium to full-bodied, suave and elegant wine redolent of dark berries, licorice, sweet soil tones and petals. Ample and fleshy, it's supple and seamless, with beautifully refined tannins.
