Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2025-2038, Neal Martin, Jan 2023
The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos-Prieur 1er Cru has quite an intense bouquet with ripe cranberry and wild strawberry scents. A little showier. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, veins of blue fruit, supple tannins with a simpler finish than the Corbeaux and maybe without quite the same degree of mineralité . Nevertheless, this will give 10-15 years' drinking pleasure.

The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur has turned out nicely, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis, dark berries, loamy soil and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and fleshy, it's deep and concentrated, with supple tannins and bright animating acids.
