Score 91/100 · Drink 2004-2012, Pierre Rovani, Dec 2001
The 1999 Riesling Schlossberg Cuvee Sainte Catherine has vivid aromatic intensity to its mineral and quinine-scented nose. Loads of toasty minerals, sun-dried gravel, pears, and bergamots can be found in its precise flavor profile. This wine has laser-like focus, yet has a silky-textured, fruit-forward character. Drink it between 2004 and 2012. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802

Rather reticent, slightly exotic nose hints at pineapple, orange oil and caraway seed. Very tightly wound and minerally; possesses noteworthy thickness of texture but is extremely closed today and uncompromisingly dry. Should blossom with four or five years of further bottle aging.
