Score 90-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2016
Bright, dark red. Strongly mineral aromas of blackberry, blueberry, violet and crushed stone. Juicy and imploded on entry, then more sedate and easygoing in the middle palate, showing lovely dark fruit and chocolate intensity and conveying an impression of small berries (the yield here was just 32 hectoliters per hectare, according to Meunier). Two-thirds of these vines are very old, but Meunier added one-third four-year-old vines for the first time, and this element has clearly contributed to the wine's juiciness and nervosité . I would not be surprised if this very attractive wine evolved relatively quickly.
