The 2008 Barolo Enrico VI is a beautiful wine that impresses for its textural elegance and sheer harmony. The aromas and flavors come together beautifully in this sumptuous, texured Barolo. Dark plums, spices, menthol and minerals are woven together in this fleshy, generous Enrico VI. This is a gorgeous Barolo with plenty of upside potential. The Enrico VI is made from the Villero vineyard in Castiglione Falletto.

Good full red. Very closed nose hints at marzipan, stone, tobacco and white truffle. The deepest in texture of these three 2008s but not at all giving today in spite of its impressive chewy extract. A classically dry, utterly backward Barolo whose substantial and somewhat tough tannins call for six to eight years of cellaring. This reminded me a bit of the 2006 Gattera, which was also youthfully imploded in the early going.
