Score 90/100 · Neal Martin, Jan 2023
The 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru is not as clean as I would like on the nose, just a bit "muddy" compared to others. Racking will assist with this. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, fleshy with a touch of charcuterie on the finish. Something a little feral about this Echézeaux and it's difficult to predict how it will evolve in bottle.

100% destemmed, 50% new oak. Cask sample . Mid ruby. A thick nose of incense and perfume, red and black fruits. There is a strident assertiveness to the acidity, in perfect balance, and a handsome, muscular tone. (MH)
