Terrebrune's 2015 Bandol is a blend of 85% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache and 5% Cinsault, aged 18 months in foudres. As it nears four years past the vintage, it's just beginning to be approachable. It showcases floral, tea-like and raspberry notes on the nose, adding currants and pomegranate on the medium to full-bodied palate and earthy notes on the long finish.

Terrebrune is located just east of Bandol; its name derives from the brown clay and marl which dominate the soil. The bedrock is solid limestone. Their white wine is a blend of Clairette, Ugni Blanc and Bourboulenc which are all farmed organically. Big and beefy with the sunshine shining out of it. A little easy and casual but I like the saline finish. More lift than in some white Bandols. (JR)
