The 2023 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch comes from vines planted in 1998–1999. It has a compelling woodsy, floral perfume—dried flowers, mossy bark and botanicals complement a core of strawberry and raspberry. The medium-bodied palate is delicately styled with crunchy, detailed flavors. It’s structured by silky tannins and mouthwatering acidity and has a long, complex finish. 783 cases were made.

A jeweled ruby color, the 2023 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch has a lifted, more focused mineral aromatic profile with notes of wet stone petrichor, raspberries, red cherry liqueur, pressed flowers, and sweet forest herbs. It’s very pretty and saturates the palate with ripe tannins and a savory richness. The palate is open and inviting, and this was one of my favorites in the range at this tasting. One of the most historic names in Sonoma, the Martinellis are sixth-generation winegrowers based in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Prolific farmers, all of their wines come from estate-grown fruit, with 90% of the grapes sold off to other wineries. In addition to focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, they also produce Zinfandel, Syrah, and Muscat of Alexandria. Courtney Robinett Wagoner joined the team in 2015 as the assistant winemaker before being promoted to winemaker in 2017.
