Score 95/100 · Drink 2030-2070, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2024

The 2023 Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese feinherb Meyer-Nepal (AP 11) is from the upper part of the cru and based on vines planted in the 1960s on a rocky terroir with just a 50-centimeter layer of fine earth. The low-yielding vines deliver very small berries. The Riesling opens with a very clear, bright, precise, flinty and vegetal bouquet of concentrated berries intertwined with woodruff aromas. Round and lush yet very fine and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, savory, saline, very mineral and crystalline Riesling with fine, elegant fruit and a long, intense and tensioned finish. This is highly promising. 9% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024.
