Score 89/100 · Drink 2025-2035, Joaquin Hidalgo, Vinous

The 2021 Tempranillo Leda Viñas Viejas from the Duero region was aged for up to 23 months in new and used 225-liter barrels—60% French oak, 25% American oak and 15% Spanish oak. Aromas of roses, candied cherry and a hint of spice open the nose, with barely perceptible oak influence. This is a rich red with active tannins and a slightly grippy texture. A compact mouthfeel emerges and the tannins lightly dry the palate. Intense, with richness that enhances the flavors.
