A blend of 60% Ravera, 20% Le Coste di Barolo, 20% Cannubi San Lorenzo. Each plot was fermented separately and aged in large oak casks for three years, followed by six months in bottle. Complex and subtle chalky minerality and great purity of fruit that is still a little subdued. Sleek and elegant and with pristine focus, length and balance. Finely grained tannins on the finish. The 2021 Barolo Tre Tine is a pale red color and is a zesty and more lifted vintage with classic aromas of sweet red berries, raspberries, orange zest, dried earth, and fresh flowers. The palate is vibrant and tension-packed, with fantastic balance, nervous and electric energy, salty freshness, well-defined, coiled tannins, and a long finish. While it’s the most approachable of the range, this is a vintage that needs time, but it’s packed with vibrant energy and will be a vintage for the long haul. While the 2019 has more fruit, this shines more for its minerality. Most of the blend is from Ravera, with 20% each from San Lorenzo and Le Coste. Drink 2028-2058. The majority of the wines for this report were tasted with Marta Rinaldi at the estate in Barolo.
Intoxicating Parma violets, violet candy, wild strawberries and restrained blood oranges and licorice on the nose. Full-bodied with filigreed tannins, it’s ripe, velvety, very savory and spicy with licorice flavors. Muscular on the finish, with lifted acidity. Will be released in spring, Try from 2026.
