The 2017 Chinon Les Varennes du Grand Clos is a wine that has plenty of breadth and full body without heaviness. It flows across the palate, offering some baked fruit characteristics as well as black cherry. On the finish you can expect ripe, supple tannins with a fine-grained texture, which is super satisfying; the French would call this gourmand . A fine line of acidity keeps things just fresh enough on the conclusion.
