Score 87/100 · Drink 2015-2023, Robert Parker, Jun 2015

This vineyard surrounds the luxury hotel Grand Barrail, situated halfway between Libourne and St.-Emilion. The 2005 has a dark plum/ruby/purple color, soft tannins, medium body, and an alluring, seductive style. It is certainly much less concentrated than the average 2005, but it is pleasant and well-made. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

Quite tarry nose. Then strangely sweet and then very dry in terms of texture – an oddity! Not for now. Very hard work on the finish. Dourthe have just taken over the management of this property. (JR)
