The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is graceful and nuanced, with sweet rose and violet florals giving way to wild strawberries and crushed stone. Soft-textured and lifted in style, it boasts crisp mineral tones and citrus-laced red berry fruits. The 2020 tapers off perfumed, leaving a vivid note of cherry pit and minty herbs on the close. Delicate tannins provide a tactile yet only lightly structured feel. This is remarkably pretty. It’s a total success for the vintage.

Mid ruby with orange tinges. Complex, brooding nose with peppery oak hints. Succulent, polished cherry fruit on the palate. Generous, well balanced and ready now. (WS)
