Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2021-2038, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

Containing five premier crus (Petite Chapelle, En Ergot, Corbeaux, Combottes and Clos Prieur), the 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Capita was quite closed on the nose: a little earthy, stemmy in style, rather curmudgeonly after the Ostrea. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannin and fresh acidity, nicely poised with veins of blood orange and a subtle ferrous note toward the finish. It does not quite have the length at the moment, but I envisage this broadening out and gaining corpulence with time in bottle. Kyu ishi.
