Score 17/20 · Drink 2025-2035, Tim Jackson MW, jancisrobinson.com, Dec 2019

Single vineyard at average elevation of 393 m (370–420 m range). 10% whole bunches. Open-top fermentation with punchdowns. 10–15 days on skins. MLF in barrel. Blonde toast on the barrels for minimal flavour addition, with thin staves to avoid reduction. White pepper, damson and blackberry, and some almond from the oak. Firm to high, sandy tannins, with coal smoke and blueberry. The firmest and most structured of the range, with flinty mineral notes and a long, spicy finish. Tight and backward. (TJ)
