Cask sample. Very intense nose combined with purity and concentration of dark, briary fruit. Clearly shows the extra layers of the grand cru. Backward at the moment but all the components are there. Kirsch flavours with a distinctly mineral undertow. Very classy. (AWH)

The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is very understated on the nose and for a Grand Cru it lacks a bit of presence, too bashful. The palate is similar, balanced but for want of a better word, "skinny" compared to other vintages.
