The 2011 Moulin a Vent le Clos du Moulin, from the 1-hectare monopole owned by Domaine Labruyère, offers a dark cherry, blackcurrant, soy and slightly ferrous bouquet. This offers very fine definition - perhaps more than the Le Carquelin at five years of age. The palate is medium-bodied, a little fresher than the Le Carquelin, a keen line of acidity, brisk and detailed with a tart cherry finish. This remains a delicious and thoroughly enjoyable Beaujolais that should continue to dole out plenty of drinking pleasure over several years.

Lurid ruby-red. Aromas of fresh red and dark berries, along with hints of licorice, star anise and smoky minerals. Palate-staining bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors put on weight with air while maintaining urgency. Shows excellent clarity and lift on the strikingly long finish, which features a zesty mineral quality and dusty, fine-grained tannins.
