Tasting notes
The 2020 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is complex, layered and deeply-pitched, as wines from this site tend to be. Cloves, sage, rosemary, lavender, dried leaves and mocha lend notable aromatic nuance as the 2020 starts to open in the glass. Readers will find a Barolo of real nuance and complexity. There's not a lot of immediacy here, so readers will have to be patient. The Colla family crafted an exquisite Barolo of the highest level in this somewhat uneven vintage.

Monforte d’Alba. Pale ruby. A deep, savoury-minerally nose with subdued raspberry fruit. Sappy and pure on the palate. Light of weight but with plenty of depth and finely chiselled tannins sticking to the fruit. Lingering and elegant. (WS)
