Cask sample. Really very seductive indeed! Polished tannins and quite a bit of sinew. (JR)

The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru shows some wood on the nose that slightly obscures the terroir profile. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, with supple tannins. Not the most complex Charmes Chambertin, though it has an attractive plummy finish.

The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru offers up aromas of sweet red berries, plums, vine smoke, spices and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's seamless and gourmand, with melting tannins and an open-knit core of fruit.

Henri Rebourseau

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, this domaine has a long history and impressive vineyards (with over five hectares of Grand Cru), but has long been considered an under-performer. Today, however, the Bouygues brothers (of Montrose and Clos Rougeard) have taken ownership and change is afoot.
