2017 Valle de Uco Malbec Reserve

Medium ruby. Enticing aromas of dark berries, bitter chocolate, violet and black olive. Juicy, firm and gripping; not a fleshy wine but boasts excellent calcaire energy (the fruit comes from Paraje Altamira and Gualtallary). Already expressive but this wine really needs another year or so to open fully. Finishes with a firm tannic spine and saline and herbal nuances. A very nicely made newer style of Argentina Malbec, from fruit picked for freshness. (aged for 18 months in large used French oak foudres )
