Tasting notes
Outstanding. The perfumed nose offers more floral notes to the ripe yet cool and airy mix of extremely pretty red berry fruit and plum aromas. There is good cut and punch to the detailed, intense and utterly delicious flavors that possess an attractive texture as well as excellent complexity on the balanced and mineral-driven if lightly austere finish. Lovely and a wine that should repay a decade or more of keeping yet be approachable after 5-ish years.

Heavily affected by frost. 30% whole clusters, 0% new oak. Cask sample. Pale ruby. Fragrant, floral nose: roses and peonies. Bright, zesty, red-cherry fruit. Elegant with somewhat refined but firm tannins. Absence of new oak very rational – this is delicate and ‘essential’. Anything more would drown out the fruit. (MH)
