Score 93/100 · Drink 2025-2039, Kristaps Karklins, Wine Advocate, Mar 2025

Issuing from a north-facing part of the vineyard, which is helpful in warm years like this to preserve acidity and retain freshness, the 2022 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir has turned out very well. Guillaume Michel explains that “it’s a long and slow ripening area, consisting of two parcels with clay-rich soils, we need to pay special attention to botrytis here.” Less flamboyant than Grenouilles, it’s unfurling from the glass with aromas of tangerine zest, pear, iodine and honeysuckle. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, sensual and refined, laden with bright acidity and concluding with a long, persistent finish.
