A blend of 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Gris, the 2022 Tronquoy Blanc offers up aromas of white flowers, spring blossoms, confit citrus and ripe pear, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping palate with a fleshy core of fruit, racy acids and a delicate phenolic character that lends definition to the white fruit-inflected finish. This should age gracefully, but it's already showing brilliantly out of the gates.
First made in 2011, the 2022 Château Tronquoy Blanc is based on 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Gris. It has a beautifully vibrant, lively nose of pears, white flowers, spice, and crushed stone. This carries to a medium-bodied white with a pure, layered, juicy mouthfeel, terrific balance, and a dry, salty finish that keeps you coming back to the glass.
Rich gold, reflecting the Sémillion and Sauvignon Gris blend, plenty of juice, with a slice of mango, white pear, apricot, lime zest This really is up there is the best of the dry whites of 2022, good grip and length. 15% new oak, 300l barrels for ageing.
About the producer

This 30-hectare estate in Saint-Estèphe is only classified as a Cru Bourgeois yet its terroir has long been prized. Now part of the same stable as the illustrious Ch. Montrose, there has been significant investment here, with rising quality and wines that now offer excellent value.
