Tasting notes
Sourced from 100% estate fruit in Kiedrich, Eltville, Erbach and Hattenheim, this 12% alcohol cuvée features white peach and lime garlanded in musky peony and strongly marked by their pits and seeds. The feel is polished and there is a nice sense of buoyancy. The finish offers a mouthwatering hint of salinity along with an ingratiating interplay of juicy fruit with stony impingements.

Produced entirely from their own grapes, Eva Fricke's 2018 Rheingau Riesling Trocken displays a bright, fresh, round and fruity bouquet with lemon and bright floral aromas. The palate is intense and concentrated, tightly structured and reveals racy acidity even in that terribly warm year. 12% alcohol. Tasted from AP 2 19 in June 2019.
Some pretty, herbal complexity is added to citrus and green-apple notes. The medium-bodied palate has a bright, fruity feel with some flinty nuances to close. Drink now.
From sites in Lorch, Eltville, Hattenheim and Kiedrich. Sandy loess and loam, clay, quartzite, slate. Selected yeast, fermented in tank, 6 months on lees. Screwcap. Aromatic and open: peachy lime with a hint of stone-dust. So much juicy fruit here and so fresh and yet with the dry texture and steeliness of top-class Riesling. Lots to chew on, so much flavour and depth at such modest alcohol and mouth-watering on the finish. Terrific estate Riesling. (JH)
