Tasting notes
One of Turley's emblematic bottlings, the 2016 Zinfandel Old Vines exhibits a lovely bouquet of raspberries, plums, cherries and licorice. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with rich structuring tannins, a generous core of fleshy fruit and a long, flavorful finish. Passalacqua notes that a lot of the single vineyards that Turley works with today began life as part of the Old Vines blend while the sources and farming improvements were made and that a few barrels of many of the top single vineyards usually find their way into the blend.

Turley's 2016 Zinfandel Old Vines screams with varietal character. Succulent dark cherry, leather, tobacco, sage, menthol and crushed flowers give the 2016 myriad shades of dimension. This plump, supple Zinfandel offers considerable near and medium-term appeal.
