The 2021 Volnay Les Grands Poisots is showing especially well, wafting from the glass with aromas of plums, raspberries and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless palate that's suave, vibrant and precise, concluding with a saline finish. In an entirely different style, it's every bit the equal of the 2020.

Cask sample. Sweet start and lots of interest and vitality. Smooth texture. And potential! Long. (JR)

The 2021 Volnay Les Grands Poisots has an attractive nose, a mixture of red and black fruit, fine definition, demonstrating more vigour than some of Boillot's Côtes de Nuits. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, lightly spiced, cohesive with a lilting and open finish. Commendable for a Village Cru.
