Tasting notes
The 2019 Bianco takes it’s time to blossom at this stage, at first nuanced and floral, with hints of chamomile and yellow apple forming its bouquet. It’s only after many hours that notes of sweetened ricotta and lemon curds form, adding richness. It’s round with seductively silky textures and a pleasant inner sweetness, showcasing citrus-tinged orchard fruits and subtle minerality. The 2019 tapers off a bit short, leaving hints of vanilla bean and a slight bitter twang that lingers around the perimeter of the palate. Don’t be tricked by thinking that this is a pop and pour, as initially out of the bottle, it came across as quite simple. Give the 2019, a blend of Ribolla, Malvasia and Sauvignon Blanc, a few more years to fully come out of its shell.
