Certified organic (Ecocert). Fruit from Premeaux-Prissey, south of Nuits-St-Georges, 375 m. Hand-picked. Fermented in French oak barrels for about two weeks with light lees stirring and then barrel-aged on fine lees for about nine months. Cask sample. Smells toasty. Has the round-tart sweetness of home-made lemonade. A little spicy; green pineapple; green cardamom. Quite plump, quite simple. (TC)

The 2023 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge Le Mont is the final vintage, as there will be no 2024 and it will be replanted with Chardonnay. This has a light, blackberry- and raspberry-scented nose. The palate is light-bodied with grainy tannins, simple dark cherry fruit and a rather abrupt finish.
