Based on old vines from Bad Kreuznach and Oberhausen and vinified in two new stück vats from Hösch, the 2021 Weissburgunder –S– offers a complex and intense bouquet that intermingles ripe and elegant fruit aromas with flinty terroir and some discreet caramel and sur lie notes. Bottled in June this year, this is a full-bodied, lush and round yet refined and highly elegant Pinot Blanc with intense and persistent fruit and lingering mineral salinity and structure. Very good length and fine tannins that need another year or two to intermingle completely with the texture. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2022.
