Tasting notes
Palish red. Ethereal, high-pitched aromas of raspberry, orange peel, rose petal, menthol and iron. Silky on entry, then tight and closed in the middle, showing little easy sweetness today but communicating an impression of very strong dry extract. Explosive on the back end, but this extremely promising, youthfully austere wine will need a decade in bottle to expand and express itself.

The 2010 Chapelle-Chambertin is a haunting wine graced with exquisite aromatics and layers of silky fruit. This is all class and elegance. The 2010 boasts striking inner perfume and sweetness all the way through to the finish. There is a level of textural brilliance and finesse here that is just plain gorgeous. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2040.

Bright medium red. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, licorice, minerals and mint. Urgent and penetrating on the palate, with concentrated, saline flavors of black cherry, licorice and smoky minerality. Distinctly rocky wine with terrific acidity and lift, not to mention length on the finish.
