Score 90/100 · Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider, Mar 2024

Currants, spice, mint and citrus crowd into the wine. On the palate, the wine is soft, forward, and quite charming for the vintage. Drink from 2024-2034.

This is showing aromas of hazelnuts, olives and currants. It’s medium-bodied and savory with pleasant green herb undertones to the fruit. Medium-chewy tannins. Best after 2024.

The 2021 Pontoise Cabarrus has a commendable nose of lifted blackberry, raspberry and violet scents, touches of cedar and mint gradually coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry and good grip. A little austere on the finish, but I think that should resolve by bottling time.
