The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux is also showing very well, wafting from the glass with a rich bouquet of cassis, dark berry fruit, licorice, smoked meats, dark chocolate and espresso roast. Medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, it's charming and expressive, underpinned by a lively spine of acidity.

Mid crimson. Refined and lightly peppery/spicy dark fruits, the oak showing discreetly, the fruit singing. A little bit hard on the palate, not sure if this is the oak or the tannin extraction. Not what I expected after the invitation of the aroma. (JH)
